Severance Isn’t on Netflix: Where to Stream It in the US and What It Costs Now

Apple TV costs $14.99 a month. If you pay full monthly price for Peacock Premium or Premium Plus, switching to the corresponding bundle adds $5 or $3. Here are the costs, all 19 episodes and the season 3 update.

No. Severance is an Apple Original, and in the United States it streams through Apple TV, the subscription Apple called Apple TV+ until October 2025. JustWatch’s US listing, checked October 29, 2026, names only two places to stream it: Apple TV itself and the Apple TV channel inside Amazon’s Prime Video app. Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max and Peacock’s own library are not on that list. What did change this fall is the bill. Apple raised the monthly price from $12.99 to $14.99 on August 28, 2026, and the Apple TV and Peacock bundle went up on September 1, so the cheapest way in now depends on what you already pay for.

The free “Severance” in your apps is a 2006 horror film

Part of the confusion is a name clash. The Apple series follows Mark Scout, played by Adam Scott, who leads a team at Lumon Industries whose employees have had their memories surgically divided between their work and personal lives. Severance is also a 2006 comedy horror film, directed by Christopher Smith and starring Danny Dyer and Laura Harris, in which co-workers on a team-building trip to a mountain forest in Hungary are hunted down one by one. In the US that film is included with Prime Video and free with ads on The Roku Channel, Philo, Fandango at Home Free and Xumo Play, according to JustWatch. It is rated R and runs 96 minutes.

The Apple series does appear in the Prime Video app, but only through the Apple TV channel, a paid add-on with its own trial, not as part of a Prime membership. So if an app offers “Severance” at no extra cost, check for a 2006 date and a single 96-minute runtime before you settle in expecting Mark and Lumon.

What each US route costs now

These routes all lead to Apple TV’s programming, but billing, eligibility and the way you cancel differ. The Prime Video channel mentioned above is left out of the table; if you pay for Apple TV through Amazon, Apple says you can cancel it only through Amazon. Prices are US list prices on October 29, 2026.

New iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV3 months freeNew or qualified returning subscribers only; one offer per familyYou bought an eligible device, aren’t currently subscribed, and neither you nor your Family Sharing group has previously accepted a three-month or one-year free Apple TV offer

Two of those rows come with strings. Apple’s terms say the device offer must be claimed in the Apple TV app within 3 months of setting up the new device, and that cancelling during the free period ends access immediately, so if you don’t plan to keep paying, cancel near the end and at least a day before it renews. The student route is for verified college students only and doesn’t extend to a Family Sharing group. Apple TV access is a limited-time benefit that may end; it also ends when you no longer qualify or stop renewing the student plan.

You don’t need Apple hardware to watch, only for the device offer. Apple lists its TV app on Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, VIZIO and TCL. What you can’t do is trade down to a cheaper plan with ads: Variety notes that Apple TV is the only major streaming service without an ad-supported tier. The upside is that Apple Originals are commercial-free on every route in the table, including the Peacock Premium bundle, where the ads sit on Peacock’s side. Our Apple TV page collects the other Apple titles we cover.

The math that decides it

Apple’s App Store listing for the bundle advertises savings of $9.99 a month on the Premium version and $11.99 on Premium Plus. Those figures compare the bundle with paying the full monthly price for both services, which only matters if you were going to buy both anyway. For most people the more useful number is the gap against what is already on the card. The Premium bundle at $17.99 costs $5 more than Peacock Premium alone at $12.99. The Premium Plus bundle at $22.99 costs $3 more than Premium Plus alone at $19.99. Those gaps assume you pay Peacock’s full monthly list price; an annual Peacock plan, a discounted offer or the cheaper Peacock Select tier needs its own comparison.

There is fine print. Apple’s announcement says the bundle can’t be bought through third-party device partners and that existing subscriptions may need managing to avoid multiple charges. If you switch, make sure the old standalone Peacock plan, or an older Apple TV plan, has actually ended. People who already had the bundle moved to the new prices on their first billing date on or after October 1, so a $3 rise on that bill matches the announced change.

The annual plan is simpler arithmetic. Twelve months at $14.99 comes to $179.88, so paying $119 up front saves $60.88 over a full year. The break-even sits at 7.94 months, though, which makes it a poor buy for one binge and a sensible one only if Ted Lasso, Silo, Pluribus and the rest of Apple’s catalog would keep you subscribed for most of the year.

Apple One Individual, at $21.95, is worth a look if you also want Apple Music, Apple Arcade or iCloud+ storage. If you already pay $11.99 for Apple Music, it adds Apple TV, Apple Arcade and 50GB of iCloud+ for $9.96 more. If Apple TV is the only service you would use, it costs $6.96 a month more than Apple TV alone.

All 19 episodes, with Apple’s dates and runtimes

Two seasons are out. Season one launched with two episodes on February 18, 2022 and then added one each Friday until all nine were out on April 8; season two ran one episode every Friday from January 17 to March 21, 2025, ten in all. Added up from the runtimes in the Apple TV app’s season list, the whole series is 938 minutes, or 15 hours and 38 minutes.

One caution on the minutes: Apple’s individual episode pages can show a different rounded runtime than the season list (season one’s “In Perpetuity” is 56 minutes on its own page and 57 in the list), so treat 938 minutes as a planning estimate rather than an exact playback time. The finale, “Cold Harbor,” is the longest at 1 hour 16 minutes. “Sweet Vitriol,” the eighth episode of season two, is the shortest at 37.

Season 3: filming began in July 2026; no premiere date

Apple announced a third season on March 21, 2025, the same date its press site gives for the season two finale. Filming started in late July 2026: Ben Stiller shared a production photo on X and Apple TV’s account reposted it, which 9to5Mac reported on July 27. As of October 29, 2026, Apple has not named a premiere date, and TVLine’s renewal tracker, updated October 26, lists the return date as TBD. 9to5Mac’s own estimate is late 2027, and it is only that. Season two arrived nearly three years after season one, so I’d treat any season three episode date on a listings site as a placeholder until Apple’s press site posts one.

My pick, and where to start

If Severance is the only reason you’re signing up and you’re new to Apple TV, the seven-day trial can cover it, but only just: 938 minutes in seven days averages about 134 minutes a day, close to three episodes. That works on a week off and feels like homework on a work week. Apple says to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you don’t want it to renew. Check whether cancelling ends your trial access right away rather than assuming a seventh viewing day remains; finishing within six days takes about 156 minutes a day.

The calmer option is one paid month at $14.99, which leaves room for an episode or two a night. Verified college students pay less while Apple’s student offer lasts: the Apple Music Student plan at $6.99 includes Apple TV access, $8 a month under Apple TV alone. If you already pay full monthly price for Peacock Premium or Premium Plus and plan to keep it, switching to the corresponding bundle adds $5 or $3 a month; check the trial, student and device offers above first, and make sure you aren’t paying for two overlapping subscriptions. I’d skip the annual plan unless you already know you’ll be watching Apple shows in month eight.

Start at season one, episode one, “Good News About Hell,” and watch in order. Apple rates the series TV-MA, with content advisories for sexual content, language and violence, and its title page shows Common Sense Media’s age recommendation of 15+. If you’re timing a cancellation, our guide to cancelling before a renewal date walks through billing periods, and if the Peacock half of the bundle has you weighing ads against price, our guide to ad-supported plans covers that trade.
